Governor of Georgia visits Wilo
![]() In the US, Wilo is represented since 2004. There, Wilo achieves a turnover of approx. 30 million US-Dollars (24 million Euros) with a staff of approx. 60. The North American main production office is located in the federal state of Georgia. The local Thomasville site should be particularly extended in the following years. Therefore, additional investments for tools and testing facilities will already flow in 2010 which amount to 2.7 million US-Dollars (2.2 million Euros). Moreover, it is planned to introduce SAP as IT support for the production extension. The manufacturer wants to extend its market position in the US and in Canada consequently with the pumps and systems for sewage disposal and treatment and for building services. Pumps and systems for those applications are produced in Thomasville. It is planned that the Dortmund headquarters supports the American subsidiary extensively in construction concerning technical knowhow and product development. Thus, the extension of the American subsidiary would also create jobs in the main office, Wilo disclosed in this context. "’Pumpenintelligenz’ made by Wilo has also a reputation in the United States of America: Against this background we are glad that Wilo wants to create further jobs in federal state of Georgia via the planned investments in the production at the Thomasville site," emphasized Sonny Perdue at the end of his visit to the Dortmund office. "This means that a large proportion of the Wilo pumps sold in America is also produced in America," said the Governor of Georgia. In the US, WILO SE has just been awarded the Merlin Award as "best innovator".
